One who achieved victory in Ancient Greece was awarded a crown of leaves to wear.  It was a symbol of triumph in their event.  As believers, we also are victorious because of what Christ has done for us.  We can’t do it alone, but we can triumph if we call on the Holy Spirit!

But sometimes we forget.  We can wake up in the morning and know the truth in our head. But no sooner are we done with our morning coffee then we find ourselves living in defeat…defeat in our emotions and thoughts.  Defeat in sin and in fears.  We even experience defeat in what we eat!

Victory over sin:  “For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.”  Romans 6:14

Victory over fear:  “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”  2 Timothy 1:7

Victory over emotions: “Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.”  Proverbs 16:32
